Wireless Internet update for Atlanta

Many, many posts on different RWA loops have mentioned the lack of free Internet access anywhere in the Marriott. So, thanks to a link from another blogger, I went to the Mall at Peachtree Center website.

I quote:

"Peachtree Center offers FREE wireless internet connection in The Mall. With a battery-powered laptop, the internet is accessible in a "hot spot" of The Mall. Look for the designated areas in the South Food Court and near the Information Booth."

Just FYI.

You would think the Marriott, a hotel that targets business men and women, would at least offer a group discount or something on internet connections! Seriously, even the local fast food places around here offer free wi-fi just to stay competitive....have fun at nationals ladies!

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but their website said they have wireless in the meeting rooms and "public" areas. The rooms are wired. No charge was indicated. You can check it out at http://marriott.com/property/factsheet.mi?mapFunc=W&mapID=-1854023717&marshaCode=atlmq

Carla--

From what I've seen (Granted, it's second hand news) there's a charge when you log on to the network in the public areas.

Just in case, I went researching free places.

Good know PC. Thanks for posting! I'm staying at the Hyatt, but I'll be sure to pass this on to my friends staying at the Marriott.

So, are the Bama chapters planning a party or lunch or something a fellow Bama writer could stop in and say hey at lol? I'm all by my lonesome down here. Sure would be cool to meet some of y'all before the B'ham conference lol!

Loribelle--

No planned meetings, per se, but we'd love to meet you and intorduce you to more AL folks.

If you'll be at the Lit signing, keep an eye out for the Playground logo...all of us will be there. (Or email me privately through the Playground)
