Free Book Friday - MY Edition

So, I've been doing FBF for about two years now. Given away a lot of books. Good times. But today is probably the bestest version of FBF evah. Why? Because today, I'm giving away a copy of MY book. :)

As you know, a box showed up on my doorstep February 28th. It was filled with these beautiful little copies of the book I wrote. I've sent some to reviewers, some out for basket donations, and one copy is going to one of you lucky commenters today. Win it before you can buy it! :)

WHAT LIES BENEATH
by Andrea Laurence
April 2012, Harlequin Desire #2152

She’s Awake. So Why Can’t She Remember?

They say she’s Cynthia Dempsey, fiancĂ©e of media mogul Will Taylor. But try as she might, she can’t recall their high-society life or the man sitting by her hospital bed. Though her body certainly remembers him. Even as she senses the distance between them, the electricity when they touch is undeniable.

Will can hardly believe Cynthia’s transformation. Gone is the ice queen who betrayed him, and in her place is a woman who seems genuine and warm. But can he risk his heart again, not knowing what might happen when her memory returns?

I've been looking forward to this for so long. It's just awesome. To enter, comment with the phrase "You never forget your first" and tell me about the first time you did something that really stuck with you... The first time you saw the ocean? First time you held your baby? The first time you saw your husband?

Congrats on the upcoing release, Andrea. I'll never forget the first time I saw my niece. I was in the delivery room and it was an emotional experience for me even though I wasn't the one giving birth. I do have a great connection/relationship with my little niece and I'd like to believe it started that day she was born.

Congratulations on your book, Andrea. You never forget the birth of your first baby, because nothing is ever, ever quite the same after that. Suddenly, everything just falls into place. You understand your mom for the first time, what she really meant when she was being 'unreasonable', you forget about your partner (for a while!) and fall in love with the new arrival and you don't see a thing wrong withthat. It's like you figure out a huge chunk of life all at once.

That for me was the most amazing experience ever.

Hope you sell lots and lots of copies.

Congrats on your first release, Andrea! If it's opened internationally, I'd love to share my "first time". You never forget your first time eating 'mpanatigghi. It's a typical Sicilian biscuit from Modica filled with a mixture of almonds, nuts, chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and MINCED BEEF. All I could think was "why this is so wrong but tastes so good?!" The first time you try it it's better not to know what's inside, because it sure sounds revolting. Believe me, it's delicious!

You never forget your first. December 24, 1947 -- I made my first solo airplane flight in a Piper Cub at the old Concord (NC) airport where I worked. That was one of the two happy things that happened to me there; I met my future husband at that airport.

Oops! I forgot -- congratulations you on the publication of your first book.

Thank you ladies! Some great 'firsts.' I haven't had any children yet, so this book is definitely as close as I've come to holding my 'baby.' :)

Ack. I posted and it came up as Anonymous. Grr.

Anyway, great 'firsts' ladies. This book is as close as I've come to holding my own baby. I was in the delivery room when my sister was born. That was kinda surreal. And not just because I was 24. :)

You never forget your first and congratulations on YOUR first!

I thought holding my babies was a great first but I have to admit that hearing my granddaughter's first cries and holding her when she was less than an hour old just might be better. No offense boys. ~grin~

Congratulations, Andrea! I'll never forget the first time I finished writing a novel. I'd sequestered myself for the weekend in the guest room of my aunt and uncle's house at a makeshift desk, and when I got to that final paragraph, those final words, I got teary eyed. I'd finally accomplished something I'd wanted to do my whole life. What a feeling!

You never forget that first box of books from the publisher! But the next one and the next one are pretty good too :) Congrats on the new book.

"You never forget your first" hernia! I have an umbilical hernia. It's painful and I have to have surgery soon. I am spending a lot of time on the couch reading.
CONGRATS! on your upcoming release, Andrea. Before I visited your site I read about you in Vicki Lewis Thompson's newsletter. Can't wait to read WHAT LIES BENEATH. Have a great weekend.

You never forget your first...new author! :) I'll never forget making that call to you last year with the offer to buy WHAT LIES BENEATH. I was almost as happy about it as you were (because no one can be as happy about it as the author getting The Call). And I continue to be super excited about this book. Only a few weeks until it's finally on shelves. Congratulations!

Obviously you can omit me from the drawing for a copy. I have a few of my own. :)

Thanks for stopping in, Shana. I didn't know I was your first call. You must've thought I was completely nuts. "I'm in an airport!" :)

Pam - lesson learned - even if you cool them in the fridge, they're going to be goopy in the middle until the next day. If you can wait to cut them, they'll hold together better. Tasty little bastards. :)

Yay Andrea!! Congrats on the upcoming release!

I'll never forget the first time I met my husband. It was the first day of grad school orientation. I was early, for maybe the second time in my life, and in walked this tall guy with a polo shirt, khaki pants, and the ugliest shoes I'd ever seen. He didn't really talk to anyone unless he had to and seemed very standoffish and more than a bit cocky. I was far less than impressed.

I don't know that a first impression has ever been so flawed! It didn't take more than a few days to realize how inaccurate I'd been in my assumptions. I've never been so happy to be absolutely wrong about someone.
