Manic Monday

*CUE MUSIC*

Just another Manic Monday....

That's for sure. I'm having carpet installed in my house today. Before this could happen, I had to clear everything out of the house that didn't take two grown men to move. When it's done, I have to move everything back in. Fun, fun.

I wish it was Sunday, 'cause that's my Fun Day.....

Actually Saturday and Sunday were great days. On Saturday I got to have lunch with the Playfriends and Mavens at Rumors, then attend an awesome HOD meeting with a presentation given by the local Tactical Unit (SWAT team). Then it was off to the Broadway musical The Producers with a walk on appearance by PM's hubby (see below posts) with my own husband. On Sunday I got girl time with Drama Queen when we went to see the Lipizzaner Stallion show. Gorgeous. Can we go back to the weekend, please?!?!

So I'm not very inspiring today. Sorry. Hopefully next week will be better. But until then, why don't you tell me what's making your Monday Manic? I'll choose one of today's lucky commenters to win a book to make up for all the craziness. Sound good?

The kids are off today but we're working so the two teenagers will have the run of the house. This means there could be a bunch of teenagers in my house, eating any junk food they can find and making a mess of the house I cleaned over the weekend.

My weekend was fun but hectic -- HOD Saturday during the day, play Saturday night (it was fabulous, wasn't it? And PM's DHtS really was a star), and grandkids' (yes, plural) b'day party yesterday. Today I have to get back to work on all the stuff I neglected over the weekend, and so far I'm dragging.

The good news it I came away from the meeting Saturday with a ton of ideas! :-)

I drove all the way to the airport at 6:30 AM and then they cancelled my flight. I'm not leaving until 3:30, so I came back home and I'm going back to bed. Argh...

Oh, no, SP! Well, at least you live close enough that you can go back home, instead of hours away. Take it easy until you leave again. :)

Well, we're dismantling the computer in a few. Pray for me. I may have serious withdrawal. :(

You'll be in my thoughts today, Angel! Wow, won't the house look great with new carpet. There's always something about a house with brand new carpeting. You'll start thinking you don't want to leave. That's happened to me before.

SP, hang in there. Get that rest. I didn't know you were heading out today. Have a great trip!

I really enjoyed Saturday's meeting. It was the BOMB! Flash Bang variety, pardon the pun. LOL. What a treat! Kudos to the coordinators who scheduled the Swat Team. Ahem. Kim.

Laundry awaits me but right now I'm off to walk off the extra pounds. Have a great morning, whether manic or sedate.

What's making my Monday manic?

Deadline.

Pray for me. :-)

I just realized I forgot to do a couple of things. Sigh. Must make better lists.

The fact today's a holiday means I won't be able to get many of them done today, which is going to mess up tomorrow as well.

Sigh

I'm not having a manic Monday! It's raining here and it's the perfect day to stay in and read.

Good luck with getting your house back in order!

Good luck with the carpeting and hugs on the computer withdrawal! It was great coming to the HOD meeting on Saturday. I learned a lot (loved that Flash Bang thing) and had so much fun. You all rock at making new people feel welcome!! And you impressed my mother, which I appreciate. I've never taken her to an RWA meeting before. I think she understands much better now that what I do isn't just a hobby for me. :)

Can't wait for the next meeting!

No Manic Monday here. I'm at home, a day off from work, sitting here in my sweats browsing around the net with my feet up on the table. It's a great day!

DH the Star is home from work today because of the holiday and with him putzing around I can never get much done in the way of writing. Guess I'll mop or dust or clean out the kitchen junk drawer. Oh... and I need to go to the grocery store cause we're nearly out of bread. I hate going to the grocery store in the rain, though. Ugh!

Good luck with the carpet. Just stay focused on the end result and now nice the house will look afterwards.

How funny, Angel. Because I lived and loved the 80's I find myself singing "Manic Monday" on Mondays all the time! And I am manic so it doesn't take a Monday to make me that way. lol!
I had a very nice weekend. However, I slept 'til 9am today and that set me back a bit. I'm racing to do stuff on the computer so I can get off here and make important phone calls.

The normal Monday household duties which seem so unappealing. which means delay as long as possible and sit back and surf instead.

Since I have the day off I am taking a co-worker to look for wedding gowns since her wedding is in June. It is very sunny and bright but cold so we can take this delightful weather and lunch out as well.

I have to renew my license so off to the license bureau which should be a fun visit. Maybe shop afterwards which will be interesting at this time of year.

Today I worked out early so I could get it over with. The gym was packed with all the people off and so eager. The rest of the day will be easy compared to that. Love accomplishing that first thing.

It is a quiet day so I may just accomplish a lot. Clean up which sounds awful but necessary and then read. What a day.

It's Maniac Monday here; laundry to do, blogs to peruse, worrying about my new top dentures and bottom partial that I'm getting and permanent crowns(4) to be put on next week. I could run and hide if it would help. Plus having to go to work tonight because 2 bowling teams switched to tonight instead of tomorrow night; throws a small monkey wrench into the equation.

Good luck with your carpet. I am sure it will be great when it is all done.
It is always manic Monday at work. (No, we don't get the holiday off.) I think people spend the weekend thinking about things to make it a crazy day.

Well, it's manic because it's 5:39 pm and I still haven't been able to wake up yet. :)

My day started with a cat that peed on a bed that I had just stripped and cleaned and another cat that toppled a plant from a high shelf :(
It's raining here too so at least I got some reading done.

We've had a crazy weekend and I have to wind it all up tonight. My hubby (Bama Guard) is activated right now. He's in the states, but only home every couple of weeks. About two weeks ago I decided enough is enough, I need an office, and I'm taking over the garage. Sounds like a plan huh? So the hubby is home this weekend and we've been painting floors and walls like crazy so we can get everything moved in before he has to go back tomorrow. I have another couple of hours before I can move bookshelves onto the floor. *sigh* It's gonna be a long night. But so worth it in the end!

Today started off well but then I realized that I had to clear out a ton of clothes from my closet that I can no longer wear since they will never fit again. So I might as well dump them for the pickup tomorrow. A job that is depressing but at least completed.

Just another regular Monday for me. I worked tonight, but i played poker for 7 hours last night. Only ended up by losing $2.55. Fun night altogether.

My manic Monday ran into Tuesday. After I got bumped from my 8am flight to the 3:30 flight, that flight got delayed by 30 minutes. When we arrived at DFW, there was a plane at our gate, so we sat on the tarmack for 45 minutes. When I got off, the lady told me my flight was on time and should be boarding so I had to huff it to another concourse (of course) only to find it was delayed an hour. Then they switched gates and delayed it another hour. Then they switched gates again and delayed it another hour while they waited for pilots to show up. Finally, 10PM, we all load onto the plane and start taxing down the runway. What's that noise? Oh, we have a FLAT TIRE! We got stuck on the runway for 2 hours while they jacked up the plane and fixed the tire, just so we could return to the gate and get on another plane. Oh wait, that one has a maintenance ticket on it. Move to another gate and another plane. I got to my destination as 2:30AM Mountain time (3:30 my time) and finally hit the bed at my hotel around 3:30. Then I got up at 8:30 and went to work.

I'm tired.
