Guest Blogger - Kelley St. John

All of the playfriends are very lucky to have known Kelley St. John for several years. She's one of the nicest women you'll ever meet! And the fact that she writes killer books with to die for heros and amazing heroines...well that's just the icing on the cake. Please give Kelley a warm playground welcome as she visits with us today.

Come on, baby, light my fire!

Okay, admit it. You look forward to those emails that feature a sexy hunk and always come at just the right time to make your week…a whole lot better. And inevitably, a large portion of those are men in uniform, or more accurately, men somewhat out of uniform.

Undeniably, there’s one particular uniform that always gets my attention…the fireman. Helllllooooo….

We’ll call this FIREMAN 1 --

Uh, yeah. Need I say more? Oh, you want more? Okay…

FIREMAN 2 --

And then there’s…FIREMAN 3 --

Or how about…FIREMAN 4 --

And one more…FIREMAN 5 --

Whew, is it getting hot in here, or what? One moment. Need water…

Okay. I’m back. And guess the occupation of my latest book’s hero. Here’s a hint – the title…

FIRE IN THE BLOOD

Uh, huh. I’d wanted a firefighter hero for quite a while (and my readers have too, from the emails I’ve received), and now I’ve got one! If you’ve read any of the books in my Sexth Sense series for Harlequin Blaze, you’ve already learned a bit about sexy firefighter Tristan Vicknair. In FIRE IN THE BLOOD, you learn even more, and you see how thoroughly he lights Chantelle Bedeau’s fire.

Here’s the cover…

Want a FREE COPY of my firefighter hero book? Simply comment with your vote for your favorite firefighter from the photos above, and you’re entered. I’ll let the playground select a winner at the end of the day :-) And thanks for letting me hang out at the playground today!

Hi Kelley,
I've always had a thing for firemen, too, and these guys are smokin' hot!

I'll have the #1 please. I just love a man who knows what to do with a big hose ;)

I had a feeling they'd jumpstart your day :) Number 1 is the frontrunner, but the day's just getting started! Are we having fun yet?

Don't forget, those comments put your name in the hat for a FREE BOOK!

I'm sorta partial to 3. There's just something about that fire behind him and the intensity in his eyes. Of course, 5 ain't tough to look at either. :-)

Um . . . wow. That's a mighty big hose he's got.

That's some mighty nice eye candy you have there but I think I'll pass on the real thing, if you don't mind. Been there, divorced that - bought the t-shirt & the hat...and KEPT the daggone house!!

Hi Kelley! *waves* So glad you got to come play today.

I'll take Fireman #5 please. Come on! Look above his waist. He's got this awesome mystery about him. His face is shadowed and I'm wondering, what's he thinking at the moment that picture was taken. Yeah! The mystery hottie is for me.

FIRE IN THE BLOOD has an awesome cover! I'm sure the story is sure to, dare I say it?, spark some flames.

Kelley, what have you found to be the most exciting thing about writing such a popular series?

I know your sexy Cajun is from Louisiana. Where did you get the idea for your series? And how easy was it to go from writing single title sexy/sassy to category spookie/sexy?

They all look great but I'll pick #1.

Man, I need this. I'm feeling like crap, but these made me smile for the first time today.

I've seen #5 before. Serve me up a piece of him please. Ooh la la!

I read my first Blaze a couple months ago and I will be picking this one up for sure. Talk about a HOT cover! Congrats on all the success and thanks for *perking up* my day. *g*

Can I have 2 favorites? I'm a bit greedy. My favorites are #1 and #3.

nicki72182 said...

Thanks for the photos!! Although I love all of them, I'd have to say that #2 is my favorite. Geez...if the firefighters around here looked like that I might consider setting something on fire...but my drool would probably put it out :)

Renee Andrews said...

LOL! I'm loving all the comments. Glad to have given you a little something to light up your day :)

For answers to your questions...

Kelley, what have you found to be the most exciting thing about writing such a popular series?

I love that the characters have six books to evolve even more :)

I know your sexy Cajun is from Louisiana. Where did you get the idea for your series? And how easy was it to go from writing single title sexy/sassy to category spookie/sexy?

The idea was just there -- the characters, the background, the cousins trying to help lost souls trying to find their way, and the lost souls who often happened to be sexy as all get out :) And this series had been churning in my head for quite some time, so it wasn't all that difficult to put it to paper when Brenda Chin gave me the go-ahead. Not hard at all to move to writing something I wanted to write so much :)

All pictures are fine but #1 gives me some heat, lol.

My vote goes to Fireman #1.

Thanks, Kelley.

Oh, my, those photos have me almost drooling and I feel really, really warm...okay, make that hot!
It is really a very difficult choice between #1 and #5 for me; I just can't make up my mind.

Jeanette J said...

Man, what a tough choice...but I think #2 could light my fire nicely
