That's What Friends Are For

The Playfriends are a codependent group and we're not above getting teary-eyed over how very lucky we are. Then stuff like this comes to your mailbox and reminds you what it's really all about.

For my friend...

When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

When you smile -- I will know you finally got laid.

When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.

When you are confused -- I will use little words.

When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.

This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end.

"Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend".

Yep, that pretty much sums us up...

Well, i had a piece of chocolate cake last nite, just one, because as i looked at it, i thoought of my sugar levels. Yep, i'm a type II diabetic. I did have three glasses of diet caffeine free coke though with it.

This morning, i woke with a headache and my sugars are up, but not too much. Today is salad, very few carbs and DH said we're going out. We're heading to the National Zoo in DC. It's supposed to be 'mostly sunny with a high of 94'. I'd rather have clouds but...this is one of the only chances we'll get. That is, if DH gets up. He loves to sleep....

So.........

I printed up this list and am bringing it to school to put in the teacher's lounge...

I love it, love it. Good credo.

I loved this too. Y'all know I always go for the sappy stuff, so this is a wonderful counterpoint (and very true). Although every time I read the part about staying away when you are sick, I picture Kim practically running away while poor Rhonda is puking on the sidewalk in Edinburgh.

Ahh, the memories... :)

Hey, I'm not "hold-your-hair-back-while-you-hurl girl." Never claimed to be.

I don't care who you are. You yak; you yak alone. (Or else I'll be yakking with you...)

PC...i'm with you on that one! I'll wait outside, hand you a towel, but don't make me listen, smell or see it....
