1876 - Melville R. Bissell patented the carpet sweeper. (Oh joy! Another housecleaning device.)

1955 - Argentina President Juan Peron was ousted after a revolt by the army and navy. (Don't cry for me, Argentina, la la la la la.)
1957 - The U.S. conducted its first underground nuclear test. The test took place in the Nevada desert.
1959 - Nikita Khruschev was not allowed to visit Disneyland due to security reasons. Khrushchev reacted angrily. (Did he bang his Mickey Mouse flip flops on the table?)

1982 - Scott Fahlman became the first person to use :-) in an online message. ( :-) )

Happy B-day #1 Son. And the baby is adorable!
I'm just so glad I didn't sell him to the gypsies when he was three years old and drew on his bedroom wall with a stick of margarine and painted the end of his bed with a bottle of Wite-Out. I suppose that was his artistic flair revealing itself at an early age.

Ok, I had run to the bedroom because, of course, that's where I left the tissues. While I was looking at the pictures, all I could hear in my mind was the song "Sunrise, Sunset." I danced to that song at my son's wedding. Gotta go...ran out of tissues.
And Happy "Birth" day to you PM!
