Round Two

Many of you might remember the 'Abigail fiasco' in September. Well, yesterday afternoon we finally brought home our little sugar glider. (for those wondering what the heck is a sugar glider, here's a site with some basic info). Jingle Bell is an early Christmas present for the girls...okay, for myself. We're really excited to have her in our lives.

So far, the poor little thing is a bit upset. And, understandably so. She's only eight weeks OOP (out of pouch) and was taken away from mom and dad last Friday. Today she was taken away from the only family she's known and came to our house. If I were her I'd be a extremely irritated too.

All things considered, I think she's doing remarkably well. She only crabs (a sound that remarkably resembles an electric pencil sharpener) at us when we actually touch the pouch that she's sitting inside. We can talk to her, look at her, even stick our hands in the cage without her lunging at us. I'm really hoping that by the end of the long weekend we'll be able to touch the pouch, or even her without fear of being bitten.

So far I haven't been able to get any current pictures of her in her new home, this picture was sent to us by her first mommy a couple weeks ago. Isn't she cute?

So, did you get any early Christmas presents?

So sweet. I'm sure she'll come around. They're very social and get lonely, so when she realizes it's you or nothing... You win. :)

I got myself a nook for Christmas. Our family agreed so scale back this year, so it was out of range and I
got a great deal on a used, well cared for one. I'm very excited.

Love her name! I agree with SP. She'll figure out soon enough who feeds her.

I had my trip last weekend so that was an early present for myself. And I bought myself some new clothes.

I saw the funniest thing this morning. Bell, the teeny tiny 3 inch long newest member of our family, scared the bonkers out of Jack, our fifty pound blue heeler mix. He stuck his nose up to the cage where she was and she started lunging and crabbing and he took off running with his tail tucked between his legs. They certainly do know how to pretend they are very, very big.

How absolutely adorable!!! I'm so excited and she isn't even mine. :)

I bought myself a book (a present for myself on a small scale) and I'm taking my children to the movies this afternoon. That owl movie, The Guardians of something... is at the dollar theater now. My daughter wanted to see it when it first came out but we never made it, so I'm taking them today. Woohoo!

Really, really cute. I have cats so I don't think they'd make good buddies unless you got them both as babies maybe lol. I got myself some socks today hahahaha but the really good news is that I finally finished my shopping and now all I have to do is wrap everything woohoo.
