Afterburn Launch Party

You know, I've been wondering over the last few days when this is going to get old. Seeing my book on the shelf. So far, it hasn't and I really hope that it never does. Next to having my girls and marrying my husband it's the best feeling in the world. Amazing!

Each book is different. They all offer their own highs and lows. I loved Afterburn because it made me stretch and grow out of my comfort zone. I learned about the Air Force, learned about myself and my writing. All of these things are going to help me make my next books even better.

And I want to thank everyone here on the Playground for helping me get to this point. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the Playfriends, our Mavens and our SoapBox Queen Rhonda. But I also want to thank all of our readers for their support, encouragement and enthusiasm. There's nothing in this world like finding a group of people who believe in you.

But enough of the teary-eyed speeches. What would a Playground party be without teeter totters, buttery nipples and chocolate martinis? Who cares if it is eight AM? Be sure and pick up a drink from one of the cabana boys, help yourself to the amazing spread of food and enjoy a lounge by the pool. Oh, and don't forget to post because I'll be giving away a copy of Afterburn to one visitor today.

P.S. I'm also guest blogging at the romance bandits today so stop by and say hi. http://romancebandits.blogspot.com/

P.P.S. And if you haven't bought your copy of Afterburn... :-) BooksAMillion, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.

I got hold of a bad batch of rum once and had a pretty nasty afterburn from it.

Does this book have wenches in it? A beautiful, saucy maiden?

Must stop by this bandits place where you are. It sounds like my kind of establishment.

Yours,

J. Sparrow

I'm deep in deadline hell, but I'll take time out to pinch a cabana boy and drink a teeter-totter.

Congratulations! In a way, the second book is even more exciting than the first.

Yay! I took a picture of it at BAM the other day. You were sold out at Walmart, though. I don't see how it could ever get old. I make a scene in the store over other people's books...my own... I'll get escorted out. :)

A teeter totter for me, Eduardo. Thanks, dear.

Congrats on the release of Afterburn Kira! I would love a chocolate martini to start my day.

Mmmm... a chocolate martini and a massage. Now that's the way to start a day!

I'm right there with you, SP. I'll probably stand in Walmart and cry when I see one of my books there. Everyone will think I've gone off the deep end.

3 cheers for Afterburn! Can we meet the hot guy on the cover? :)

Squeee! My copy is on the nightstand and I've read the first two chapters. It's been a little hectic here (husband has MRSA infection in his leg) but things seem to be calming down. Can't wait to start reading about Chase and Rina again.

Oh Raoul! Be a dear and bring me something to drink.

Thanks everyone! This celebration wouldn't be the same without you guys.

And of course the cabana boys do massages! Our men are excellent at multitasking :-)

Congrats on the release, can the cabana boys bring me a marguerita?

Angel said...

Ooohhh, a strawberry marguerita would be good for lunch. It has fruit in it, right? :)

Angel, I agree that the strawberry marguerita would count as your fruit for the day. Sounds like a great choice for lunch.

*rolls onto her stomach in the poolside loungechair and lets one of the cabana boys untie her bikini top so she doesn't get those pesky tan lines*

At a Playground party anything is possible. I, for one, can wear a bikini (eek) and sunbathe without 2nd degree burns. It can also be sunny and beautiful instead of rainy. Therefore, strawberry margaritas are a fruit and chocolate martinis are a dairy. Petit fours are whole grains, too. I love Playground parties.

I can imagine that seeing your book on a shelf NEVER gets old. Can't wait to experience that one myself some day.

Congratulations...enjoy!

Oooh, I love the magic of Playground parties. I wanna tan too!! And a strawberry rita. And a petite four. And a cabana boy to rub the suntan oil on.

Hi everyone! Beautiful to read how AFTERBURN had you grow even more as a writer. I know when someone asks me whats my favorite book, I'll say the one I just read! Because I find they are each their own story and have their special meaning so I often can't pick just one. So thanks for giving me all that!!

Happy Mother's Day weekend too!
