Let Your Light Shine

And here I thought I was doing good to get the tree up and a wreath on the front door.

That is too funny. I wonder if DH could do that with our lights....

I don't want their power bill. And you know the Homeowner's Association must LOVE them.

Imagine how long the neighbors have to listen to the loud music! Talk about keeping up with the Joneses!

Actually the guy rigged it so the music was transmitted over the FM radio frequency and you picked it up on your car radio. But I understand the police shut him down because it was causing a horrific traffic jam.

As for the power bill -- my nephew used to decorate their house and yard with hundreds of thousands of lights. They were on the house and all the bushes and trees. He had free-standing lighted sculptures. And every year folks would buy lights at the after-Christmas sales and give them to him to add to his collection. Eventually he put a second circuit box into the house to handle the extra power demands.

My sister, who is a CPA and can squeeze a penny until it screams for mercy, said it added about $10 to their monthly power bill. But she also said the first time she saw a small child stand in their front yard with his mouth agape and say "Wow oh wow oh wow!" it was worth every penny.
