Addictions

And no, I don't mean the illegal drug, hit rock bottom, ruin your life kind of addictions. I'm talking about the I've discovered these mini cupcakes that are amazing and relatively good on the grand scale of things until you eat the entire dozen kind of addiction. Or the I bought yet another pair of shoes online today because I was bored and they were so pretty addiction. Yeah, the kind that won't ruin your life...but you can't seem to build up the willpower to resist.

I'm telling you, these cupcakes are awesome (and so are the shoes). They're two bites so they're small. The icing on top is perfect - not too sweet, not too bland, not too grainy. They taste like heaven and because they're so small you don't feel guilty after you eat one. However, I'm here to attest that you do feel guilty after you eat ten. I start with two (because I know I can't just have one). And then five minutes later find myself back in the kitchen. I have no idea how I got there. Or what I came for. But, hey look, there are those cupcakes. A couple more can't hurt.

They're small and that's how they get ya. (They're also available in the bakery section at Publix for anyone who wants to join my addiction).

So, I'm going to go first. Hi. My name is Kira, and I'm a mini cupcake addict. (We won't mention the shoes). They say the first step is to admit you have a problem. Although, I think my real problem is going to be step two which I'm assuming is giving up the object of your addiction. In fact, while everyone else shares their own addictions, I'm going to the kitchen for another cupcake. I promise I'll be right back.

You are so funny. Describe the cupcakes please; they must be chocolate.

Do the cupcakes come in red velvet with cream cheese frosting? I'm addicted to soda, especially Coke.

Cakes in general don't get to me. Ice cream, though . . .

Must avoid bakery aisle of Publix.

I'm a pen and sticky note addict. I have enough pens to provide writing instruments for an entire town. And just about enough sticky notes for them to all use their pens and jot down something.

So keep me away from the goody room at nationals. I am, however, picky about my pens. They must be the click type, not the removable-cap type. Though is the removable-cap one is reeeeeeeeeealy pretty, I'll take it too.

Back to Jane's question, what flavors do these cupcakes come in?

Don't worry. Eventually, like every perfect bra, Clinque lipstick, and everything else we really love, they'll stop making it. Then there you'll be in the Publix bakery, like an empty shell, muttering "But I thought I could count on this." You'll reach for the big cupcakes but they won't be same. Eventually, you'll try a mini Little Debbie, but they will only disappoint. There will be no option except to order some shoes--or go to Edgar's Bakery in one of it's four Birmingham locations. There's no brown sugar in their caramel. They know real caramel starts with burned sugar.

The cupcakes do sound wonderful. I'm addicted to shoes. I have so many pairs, but just keep buying more.

Those cupcakes sound yummy...

my addiction is coffee or tea...and notebooks. I have them everywhere, but never the one I need. That means I need more coffee....

I'm fortunate that sweets don't really do a lot for me. I can resist mini-cupcakes until the cows come home. Shoes, on the other hand.....

Sweets are the devil. I'm not a huge cake fan (I know... weird, right?) and I don't really like brownies, but sit a rice krispie treat, a chocolate chip cookie or some kind of candy in front of me and its gone. GONE.

And if the shoe is in my size and its cute an on sale, well... I try not to feel guilty. I add an old pair to the donate pile to make up for it.

I have too many addictions to list! But I'm ok with the sweets. It's the salty stuff that gets me every time. Right now I'm thinking about the salsa and chips from a too-close-for-comfort Mexican restaurant. I swear I could drink that salsa! Now if I just had that recipe....... :-D

My addiction is all y'all's fault! All y'all's! Or should I say Maven Linda. I'm officially addicted to yellow box flip flops. And now they make dress shoes too (flip flop types, but dressier). I had to have a fix this year, so I went to the store, and they were on sale! I know my hubby is trying to figure out where all these new shoes have come from. Is that a new pair, or have I just not seen them yet? ;) I'm terrible!

Then my daughter asks me if she can have a pair and I say NO! I'm not paying $20 for kids flip flops (though technically she could fit an adult size). See, I'm terrible.

The cupcakes are good ole vanilla. But they're perfect vanilla. They do not come in red velvet (although I'd love that) or chocolate. I think they should expand their mini-cupcake options to include these variations of course if they never do I'll be happy with the vanilla.

I love hearing about all these addictions. *Rubs hands together* do you think Zilla would notice if I added another to the list?
