The Simple Pleasures

It's stupid, sometimes, the things that make us smile. I have a new set of pots and pans. Every time I walk into the kitchen and see them I smile. This is idiotic because I don't cook. I will probably be able to count on one hand the number of times I will actually use them over the next year. But they're so preeettyy :-)

I spent almost the entire day yesterday in bed reading a book. The reason I was there wasn't pleasant (Sweet Pea is sick) but it's been so long since I've indulged myself in that pleasure...

And Whispers in the Dark is now listed on Amazon.com and BooksaMillion.com. It's a little thing. I don't have a cover. But I do have a title. And it's my name on the screen. It's becoming more and more real every day. :-)

What's your simple pleasure?

Instigator, little things make me happy, too. I recently got a new magnetic doo-dad that sticks to my fridge for me to hang my measuring cups from and I love it. I feel so efficient when I see them hanging there. :-)

Sorry Sweet Pea is sick! (But glad your announcement is up on Amazon! Woot!)

I, too, have to smile when I use one of my new kitchen doodads. It's been so long since I had any! New scrapbooking paper or developing pictures. Cuddling with my children.

Sleep.

My simple pleasure is rereading a favorite book. I really don't have the time because I have a ton of new books to read, but every once in a while, I like to pick up a comfort read. That makes me smile.

So cool about Amazon!

I have a great simple pleasure coming up tomorrow. We get to keep BabyGrand for the weekend. I haven't seen her since Christmas. #2 son says she can say "Grammy" now, which might just qualify her for a trip to the toy store. Oh wait -- I already went to the toy store to get a few things for her to play with. And I've bought her bunches of new clothes. Shopping in the pink department, especially when there's a great sale, is fun.

Sleeping in. You'd think, without kids or a day job, I'd be able to do that whenever I want. Nope.

Congrats on the Amazon listing!

My simple pleasure - falling asleep on the couch watching TV. That means I have nothing scheduled, no need to set an alarm, nothing to get up and do... I can just fall asleep on the couch to old episodes of Law and Order, without consequence. Love that.

Ah, simple pleasures. Summers without worrying when you can schedule vacation. Nights with nothing to do. Having your child say, "I love you, Mom." A knowing smile from the DH. Sunset. Sunrise. Soft, downy kitten fur. The smell of chocolate chip cookies!

Woo-hoo! I'm so jazzed about your Amazon listing. Way to go, Instigator!!

Congrats on the Amazon listing...Although I don't understand why your publisher would want to use that title. It might be confused with the movie or the other books with the same title. You would think they would want you to have an original or unique title.

My simple pleasures are relaxing on the beach with a hot book.
