PC's Coolest Thing

Ooh, I love our Birthday week. So much has happened in the last three years, yet it doesn’t seem like all that long ago we were doing our first photo shoot and trying to figure out the workings of Blogger. (Personally, I’m still trying to figure out the workings of Blogger – since it hates me and all.)

What a ride it’s been! Sometimes I’ll randomly click on a month in the archives and see what we were blogging about and it’s like living it all over again. I’m just so glad I had the Playfriends and all of y’all to share it with.

So while there are many, many things that are vying for the coolest thing to happen in the last three years – the first time a stranger came up to me and said, “I read your blog,” is definitely close to the top! – my “Coolest Thing” comes from y’all every single day.

The fact that you even take the time to drop by – and whether or not you comment, we know you were here – makes me happier than you can imagine. You share this journey with us, and you’re an important part of it. You celebrate and commiserate with us. You ask about the kids and the goats and listen to us complain about just about anything (including kids and goats). When I got rejected, you sympathized. You sent emails and cyber hugs; you told me your rejection story in order to make me feel better. You encouraged me to go on. When I sold, you celebrated with me. You told me that my Call encouraged and inspired you to keep writing and dreaming.

We wonder about you. Where you're from. Where you are on your personal journey. If a regular commenter disappears, we worry about you. We're tickled when you come back. We want to celebrate and commiserate with you, too, and we love to hear your news.

We didn’t set out to be role-models or inspirations or even to claim we knew a damn thing about anything. We just wanted to connect, to make some friends out there in cyberspace, and it’s turned out to be more than we ever hoped for.

So the Coolest Thing from the last three years is y’all. No contest.

Thank you for making this so freakin’ cool.

PC

Hmmm, I’m all misty-eyed, but I can see lots of books on my bookshelf that need good homes. Comment to win!

Winners will be selected each day, but we'll do one winners post for the week on Saturday.

I love stopping by. I get a good laugh more often than not. And lots of days I need that. I find out about new authors that I would never think to read - Heidi Rice is one, loved her books. And for me, you are just a stone's throw away, being here in AL. I thank you ladies for sharing your family, friends, thoughts and emotions. I know it can't be easy somedays but you do it just the same. Here's to many more years blogging.
Thanks!!!!!

Great post PC! I love reading about everyone's writing journey. I'm not a writer, but love to hear/read about the process. I'm in Nashville, so it seems like all of y'all are just around to corner from me.

I love y'all! You have no idea how amazing and nice it is to realize that there are people out there reading about my day/journey/family/fight with animals and that care (or get a kick out of my trial and errors).

My life just isn't interesting... until I get the chance to share it with y'all.

It IS hard to believe it's been three years. Where has the time gone? Which reminds me... I need to work more on my post for tomorrow.

I love reading the blog every morning. It's my way of staying connected and motivated. Where else could you find such a world of information on shoes, farm animals, party planning, new authors, undergarments, how to bake a cake in a cup, etc. The list goes on and on and I for one greatly appreciate all of it. :D
Happy Birthday!

I'm sitting here laughing over Sherry's list. We do offer a WIDE variety of topics, don't we? :)

I have to second everything PC said. When we first started blogging, we were obsessive about checking it every couple of minutes and being wowed when someone commented. I have to admit, I still get that same WOW feeling when I open the blog and see that someone besides us has shown up.

Then there's that connected feeling she talked about. It certainly feels that way... that we aren't alone in this crazy journey to publication. Whether you are a fellow writer or a fellow reader, your encouragement means the world to us. Thank you for celebrating our trials and triumphs with us!

What a lovely post. I am not an Author. But I do write reviews of the books I read. I am passing books on to others and finding a lot of people are looking for good authors. Just this week I gave an 68 year old lady a book and she wondered where I got such wonderful books. I find new Authors and like to encourage and uplift because that is what books do for me.
I live in rural Missouri and I'm 58 years old and married to my one and only 29 years. I have two grown daughters. God Bless.

I always love reading the posts PC and Happy Birthday to all the playfriends. I Love "hearing" the southern accents.

I am a writer and have learned so much from you (all) the circle of 5, never give up, Courier font size 12...just to name a few.

You always make me laugh and I am proud to be an honorary playfriend.
