New Toys

I've been a little distracted this week. Shhhhh, don't tell my editor. :-D Zilla and I both got new toys over the weekend - Blackberry Storms.I had no intention of getting a new phone but...I needed a new battery and car charger for my old cell and it was actually cheaper just to get us both new phones. However, that means that I've spent countless hours this week playing with buttons, learning menus and researching apps. Oh and let's not forget downloading my music, searching for True Blood backgrounds and making new ringtones for all my friends.

What's really been fun in all this is watching Zilla. The first night he was like a kid in a candy store. While I've had a smartphone for a year he hasn't...and had no idea what he was missing. While my phone wasn't working (Verizon did replace it immediately the next day) I received at least five phone calls from him exclaiming over some new trick his phone could do. The funny thing is that since the first night he hasn't played with it at all. While I've downloaded new themes, games, ringtone makers, efficiency software, etc. he hasn't even changed his background.

After spending several hours yesterday I think I've finally pushed all the buttons and figured out what everything does. Which means I can return to my regularly scheduled week. I have a book due in 15 days and I really need to finish it. :-) (Brenda, if you're reading this, I swear I only have about 30 more pages to write. :-)).

Have you gotten a new gadget lately? Do you get sucked into technology? Do you know of any great apps for the Storm?

I hate to admit this, I love gadgets, but I tend to be like your husband. I play with it it for a day (maybe two) and never push it to the max.

Well, except for my IPOD touch...but I can't make phone calls with that...

I was the same way when I got my iPhone for Christmas -- I just hadn't realized what I was missing. Checking my email without a computer. Texting. Commenting on Facebook while in the car rider line. Love it!!!

Congrats on the new toy. I don't know if I could do without mine now (well, I could, but there would need to be a really good reason...)

I think my last new gadget was the milk frother I got for Christmas. And then I found out I'm lactose intolerant. Does Silk froth? Guess I should try it and find out. LOL!

My iPhone hasn't lost it's nifty-ness for me yet. I don't know how I lived without it!

I have my new HP mini that I'm loving as well. I didn't *need* it, because I have the iPhone and a regular laptop, but it's so little and cute I just love it!

I'm not very techie. I did get a new Razor phone this summer and I have no idea all the things it can do. I just want to be able to talk on it, and take pictures. I have yet to text anyone as I don't have texting on my plan. As far as downloading ring tones, only if they are free and someone would have to show me how to do that, I hate reading how in those manuals.

PM- Silk will froth. I get soy milk at Starbucks all the time in my latte.

I love my Storm, but really wish Verizon could find a way to sell the iphone. I don't play around with my phone as much as I would like, but love being able to check facebook and twitter from my phone.

I do not have a new toy and I do not want one. I already have a car that's smarter than I am, that talks back to me. ("Make a U-Turn NOW! NOW, I tell you, you stupid human!)I don't want a phone that's smarter.

Okay, so maybe there is one thing. I need a high def flat screen, at least 46 inches. I need to be able to count the hairs on the quarterback's arm.

I don't even know how to use everything on my blackberry and would love to learn how to change ringtones for special family and friends. :)

Jean, there are other things I look for during football games. ;D

No new gadgets here. I am not to good with cell phones myself! My tecno ability is pretty bad and when I get my hands on a cell phone I will delete something or screw it up when I push buttons.

Well, I'm in the hunt for a new phone myself and the Storm is on my list. I want the iphone...sniff...don't want to change networks, etc..

I love gadgets! I can sit for hours playing away and totally lose a day or ten. LOL. I will be the same way when I get a new phone! Still looking and shopping right now, waiting on upgrade time. HAHA!
