Drama Queen had a field trip, there were errands to run, on and on.

When I have one of those days, I usually pull into the driveway at night and quickly shoo everyone into the house for baths, pjs, and prayers. I want nothing more than to get everyone in bed so I can collapse. Last night, for some reason, I happened to notice how clear the sky was-the stars shone bright with just a sprinkling of clouds to add a little mystery.

All of a sudden, the urge to rush faded. I called out to my daughter, "Come look at the stars." I was carrying Little Man and I pointed up to the sky until he looked up. He'd never paid attention to the sky before. But his little face softened as he said, "ooohhh". And my heart melted.

I'm so glad I paused for that moment in time. I stood for five whole minutes, no longer looking at the sky, but at my children, marvelling at their beauty and innocence. It wasn't on my schedule, but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

AngelAngelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17010424240956906870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141256006997234422006-03-01T17:33:00.000-06:002006-03-01T17:33:00.000-06:00I have a toiletries bag that stays packed all the ...I have a toiletries bag that stays packed all the time, so that eliminates the need to round up deodorant, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, et cetera. I just have to add my medicines and it's ready to go.

I guess I've traveled enough in my life to have a sort of mental list of basics -- underwear, pajamas, pants and shirts, shoes and socks, jacket if needed. If I know about a trip, I do the list thing and drive my husband insane. *beg* Of course I'm never the one who gets to our destination sans a toothbrush or underwear.Playground Monitorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07444337591281145863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141255581044841802006-03-01T17:26:00.000-06:002006-03-01T17:26:00.000-06:00Oh, and fast turnaround is no reason not to make a...Oh, and fast turnaround is no reason not to make a packing list...

PC
(who already has packing lists for trips in May, June, and July going)Problem Childhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01456049865200737618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141227820301968002006-03-01T09:43:00.000-06:002006-03-01T09:43:00.000-06:00DB is always accusing me of being unwilling to do ...DB is always accusing me of being unwilling to do anything that isn't on my schedule. I surprised him by taking today off work so we could take advantage of the good weather and do some outdoor projects. Two days is spur of the moment for me. Maybe I'll make us a picnic. I'll have to think about it... :)

SPAndrea Laurence AKA Smarty Pantshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13518751514879244662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141224215682776382006-03-01T08:43:00.000-06:002006-03-01T08:43:00.000-06:00girl scout cookies...YUM!Okay, this is probably on...girl scout cookies...YUM!

Okay, this is probably only something the tiny catholic school girl inside me finds ironic but... today is Ash Wednesday and starts Lent for us catholics (even the Easter/Christmas ones). Today starts my 40 days of denial (I'm giving up something...thought it would be chocolate until my boss pointed out we're all going on vacation in a couple weeks. Maybe I'll give up ice cream instead. I can always have my chocolate chess pie without the topping.). I'm also supposed to fast - no meat today or Fridays until Easter.

I did bring my Alphie to work with me today though. I'm going to seize the moment (cause both of my bosses are out of town) and write at work today :-) I've been indulging myself for days :-) But thanks PM for reminding me that I should take the time and not feel guilty when I do.

InstigatorKira Sinclair - AKA Instigatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14274056066229852126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141198190231209922006-03-01T01:29:00.000-06:002006-03-01T01:29:00.000-06:00Great Post!Great Post!Jennifer Y.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17872094673771046272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18688033.post-1141192719542197522006-02-28T23:58:00.000-06:002006-02-28T23:58:00.000-06:00One of my favorite quotes is "Life is what happens...One of my favorite quotes is "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans."

I think I may open that last box of girl scout cookies today...

PCProblem Childhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01456049865200737618noreply@blogger.com
